1. 210 560 divided by 8 = 70 times 3 = 210
2. 112.5 25 pounds divided b 2 cubic feet = 12.5 times 9 = 112.5
3. 2880 24 divided by 5 gives you 4.8 gallons per second times 600 seconds (60 seconds in 1 minute times 10) = 2880
Ok, the other answers are wrong. See, 5 gallons in 24 seconds is a lot of water. Only 125 gallons in 600 seconds? That doesn't make sense, does it? Also, 3000 is wrong because you cannot mulitply it by five. You have to figure out how much water is delivered in 1 SECOND, which is 4.8. Dived 24 gallons by 5 seconds to get your gallons for 1 second. Then, multiply 4.8 gallons per 1 second into 600 seconds. (10 minutes times 60 seconds per minute) That will give you 2880. I promise. Don't look at the others, this is the correct answer.

1: 3*560/8= 210 calories
2: 9*25/2=112.5 pounds
3: convert 10 mintues into second which is 600
5*600/24= 125 gallons

560/8=70 Calories per ounce 70*3=210 Calories per 3 ounces
25/2=12.5 Pounds per cubic foot 12.5*9=112.5 Pounds per 9 cubic feet
10 minutes=600 seconds 600*5=3000 gallons of water
1-210 Calories per 3 Ounces
2-112.5 Pounds per 9 Cubic Feet
3-3000 Gallons of Water
you can take there 125lbs answers and * it by 24 and get 3000 so idk if this is right or if they are?

These (if I am doing it correctly) are pretty simple. You need to set up proportions.
1) 560 cal. ?
------------- = -------------
8 ounces 3 ounces
2) 2 cubic ft. 9 cubic ft.
----------------- = -------------------
25 lbs. ?
3) You need to change 10 minutes into seconds, which equals= 600 seconds.
5 gallons ?
------------------ = -----------------
24 seconds 600 seconds
Now hopefully you know how to solve these, the answers are below!!! Hoped I helped! You should probably next time take notes during class. ;-)

Sounds to me like you want to find the linear equation drwan from two given points. Using the slope/intercept form of the line (y = mx + c) to solve, we first find the slope: (change in y)/(change in x) => (5 - 3)/(3 - - 2) = 2/5 => y = (2/5)x + c Only need y intercept now (c). All You need to do is substitute either given point into the equation and solve for m. That will complete the solution. In the future, remember that when you have just two points, you can solve the problem, because you also have the slope/intercept form of a line (see above). You can figure out the slope by subtracting (y2 - y1)/ (x2 -x1) when (x1, y1) and x2 , y2) represent the 2 ordered pairs or points. Just ALWAYS use them in the order given or you are told to use them. Once the slope is known you only have one unknown, c. That does it, substitute and solve. Doublecheck by substituting the second point into the equation.

1. 210 calories
2. 112.5 pounds
3. 125 gallons
You use the a/b=c/d sort of thing.
Like for #1:
8/560=3/N
You then cross multiply (3x560 and 8xN)
1680=8N
Divide by eight and get 210.
