Of course it's normal. He's learning about all his amazing body parts. You'll see him discover his hands, his feet (he'll work hard to get them in his mouth--let him!), even his penis (and this is perfectly normal as well--he's got to figure it all out!). My baby did the same thing with his tongue, which soon allowed him to make bubbles and now he can blow raspberries!

This sounds pretty normal. I know my son did and still does some of that thrashing around for no reason. He definitely cries for apparently no reason. After he's been fed, changed, cuddled, and is not sick or anything, sometimes I can't figure out why he's crying too. I usually just muddle thru the day holding/wearing him and try to breath when he naps. The spitting up is completely normal. Do try to keep him upright right after a feeding for at least 30 min or more if possible. I know it looks like a lot, but liquid really spreads and he's getting enough nutrition. Try to think of it like "well He got too much, so he's just evening it out". It will get much better when you can start to feed him some rice cereal. Good luck and God bless!!

Very normal! My baby did this from the second she was born. She is now 8 months old (perfectly healthy) and still loves to stick out her tongue!

Completely normal. In fact, all the baby magazine I have had said that at about 6 weeks of age, your baby should be sticking out his/her tongue at you. Since nothing else is steady right now, this is their first "control" thing that can do. :) Take lots of pics!

Every mother tends to worry a lot about their new baby. Your baby is probably just fascinated by his tongue and curious about what it is. If everything else seems normal and your doctor tells you the same, you have nothing to worry about. All babies have personalities of their own and do things differently sometimes, Just like you and me.

Oh, this is perfectly normal! My little girl does it all the time. It's a reflex that they are born with that helps them to pull a nipple into their mouth and latch on. The reflex doesn't fully fade until they're about 6 months (which is another reason you're not supposed to feed solids until then).

very normal. It's too cute to watch, try to get it on video or captured by a photo because he won't do it like that forever. Enjoy all the new things he's learning.
