b'coz our eastern culture we respect virginity, especially for woman. in every relationship seeking for mature and stable to married life so before married is more like "get along" relation. to find out how you match each other and know him/her better. and the purpose for that is to married. it may not suit people from other place who feels that that kind of relation is just a waste of time b'coz u still could separate (divorced) so whats the point of waiting till married. but it worthed, bcoz married is not only about sex and to give virginity as the highest prize to the one we love and commit to spend the rest of their life (or so they said) with you is adorable and priceless, i think.

Indonesia can be proud of themselves especially the women for having decent respectful people
Australia had many also years ago
as did america england etc all over the world then I think tv & the movies made out it was ok before marriage etc & then things changed
so a big THUMBS UP for them

Virgninity is not prized in Indonesia..it is simply that many people are virgins before marriage due to their religious practices. So with many virgins around, maybe this is where the concept of "prized virginity" came along.
