Just a little FYI, just b/c the computer is running slow it can be anything from a Virus, Malware, SpyWare, Adware ect ect. Malware can be downloaded into your computer just by GOING TO a Website (malicious Scripts are written that you don't see nor do you know anything is being installed on your machine), you can get infected by clicking on Pop UPs ect ect. So before you go accusing your wife of doing something bad, try understand the process of how these things work, it's not like the old days where you only got viruses from crack and porn sites, you get them from sites that look legit nowadays.

From the Windows Help And Support Center:

"Event Viewer maintains logs about programs, security, and system events on your computer. You can use Event Viewer to view and manage the event logs, gather information about hardware and software problems, and monitor Windows security events"
"To open Event Viewer, click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer"

The best thing is that Event Viewer logs the user that was using the computer at the time. Plus the time and the date it was being used.

I Hope this helps alot. Good Luck!

yes there is a way to tell. when you scan for the virus and find it, before getting rid of it, do a search on your system for the file name and check the date on it. when you see what you want, get rid of it. then scan the system again.
