i got an IUD almost a year and a half ago. since my periods have stopped my discharge has definately made its presence known. its almost an everyday thing, i am hardly EVER dry down there.

the discharge is thick, slimy;; feels like a soft paste;; no smell and white in color. i have had no out of control itching, no burning, jus the ever'present wetness. does anyone relate to this?? is there anything i can do to subside this wetness?? even just a little??

Yes, i had the same thing except for mine looked bloody. I bled for 16 days in december of last year and very bad cramping. I went to a place called planned parenthood to get it taken out and they said it was stuck so they had to send me to a specialist to get it out and they said the wings were bent and i could have gotten pregnant. I had it in for like 3 1/2 years and it was a 5 year mirena iud. Since i got it out the discharge got a lot better. But, one thing you may want to get tested for std to be on safe side. Good luck :)

It is normal to have a discharge with an IUD and it can be aggravating at times. Since your body does not go through having periods any longer, your body is cleansing itself more. Try wearing thin panty liners.

The discharge is normal. It is actually mucous. This is the way your body protects itself. If there is no odor or color it is normal. Just like snot in your nose. You can wear a panty liner but make sure you change them often. IUD's are effective because they irritate the lining of the uterus ..this is just your body's way of healing itself.

this is proberly just your vagina cleansing itself. The vagina is the most self cleansing pat of your body. If you are worried go see yoiur local gp/gynascolagist (yes i know its embarrasing but sometimes a girls gotta do wt a girls gotta do) Hope everything works out.

something is out of balance for sure. if no smell, could be an std. not sure. it will only take a gyn a second to tell you. the moisture helps other culprits grow. meanwhile, of course, change your underwear often to decrease the growth and wetness.
