I'd say Salming or Peter Stastny. Both came in early (in different ways) and changed the game in their own right.

I agree, Borje Salming and Peter Stastny were both very influencial. Salming the more of the two. He is still a very huge icon in Sweden. HOWEVER. I think we tend to overlook what Vladamir Trechiak did for the hockey world. I often answer the age old question of. "who would you pick first overall for your fantasy team. Any player from any era" My answer is always Trechiack.

My vote would be for Anders Hedberg... showing that the finesse game would work in the NHL
