My Dear Sexy,

Thanks so much for your email reply. I have been so busy. I am taking a quick break at work to reply to you. I certainly hope your neck area is getting better! Having a spasm in that area can ruin your day, you never realize how much you use your neck until it’s hurt.

Your commentary about being without cats is quite humorous. But, I hope you are not feeling lonely without them. It is good that you no longer have that annoyance factor though.

The house is shaping up well. The landlord/repair people have not shown up yet, to my knowledge. With the help of Nessa, yesterday we shredded 10 years worth of cancelled checks. That was a fun activity for her, and was nice to be rid of more packrat stuff. Just have a few more cabinets to go through and some filing to do.

Have some more stuff to do tonight since I don’t have Nessa with me. Maybe we can chat later if possible. Miss you much!

Love Pumpkin

My dear sexy...bla-bla-bla. Cancelled checks...bla-bla-bla.

She sounds like a cyborg. Is English her second language? Why is it so formal and non-romantic?

This could have been to anybody she knew, even an acquaintance. I'd be pissed it wasn't personalized at all. I mean, she mentioned your neck, but if it were my boyfriend's neck that was hurt, I'd probably say something about rubbing it or kissing it or at least putting a sock full of hot rice on it. Something. How I wish I could be there to do something for him.

Ugh.

I'm not impressed. I don't know how to respond to that. Sounds like a mass email and you just happened to get a copy.

Send her a forward or something. Say, "I saw this _________ and thought of you."

Don't try too hard. She didn't!

Dear Pumpkin;
Thanks for the lovely little note and all your concern.
Glad you got a minute at work to slip that email in.
Missing the cats but have myself to keep me entertained.
Glad you got through your shredding activities, hope you find a moment from work to get to the other "few" you referenced.
Have fun doing your "stuff". Don't worry about the chat, I would rather talk to myself because it's likely that I love me more than you do. thanks anyway.

Suggest that you learn 'woman speak' first of all, she is telling you what is happening in her life, so you get an idea of how busy she is. Second, she is commenting on your e-mail, and what is going on with you, showing some interest. Third, obviously, she misses you and wants to hear from you....get off your thumb and tell her you miss her too and try to make some plans to see her.
Best wishes

How would you NOT respond?

Brainstorm everything you could respond about, then go through and cross out what you don't want to respond about.
