Absolutely. Phil Jackson is a playoff coach and will be finishing the fine tuning as the season winds down. And I wouldn't be surprised if they do a lot of damage once they get there.

yes they will make it.
about CHEF's reply,
you are right, the Lakers defense is very weak and very easy to get through, they dont pay attention to the whole court and control they key. I watch the Detriot Laker game, and their defense was so sloppy. 3 lakers were at the key, a piston was near the key and one at the 3 point line, and he did a high pass to the piston at the key and the lakers didnt even know. Slam Dunk.
They just have to run straight in the Laker's defense and its done. Also, I saw them on offense. They tried to get in for a easy layup, but cannnot get it done. Everytime they go in, you cannot see the ball for a second.. . . then u see a piston running down the court. They do too much sloppy passes too. They either did bad pass, steals, stripped, or a luck shot.
THe lakers needed Kidd because they needed a guy that can shoot easily. Kobe is passing more now, and the other guys are not gettting the job done by making the easy shot when Kobe drags the players to him for a open man.
Kidd can get it done, but they didnt get him.
Mo Evans misses too much, Farmar does not have so much experience, Cook misses alot until he catches fire, Odom is not shooting well since he came back, Vujavic sometimes gets it done with those 3 pointers of his.
BTW, i am a Laker fan and i think their defense is weak.

It's not a question of whether they are going to the playoffs or not, it's whether they will win in the playoffs. The Lakers hold the 6th spot right now and their team has real determination this year. The way Kobe has been playing this year, and with Lamar Odom healthy again, they will have no problem keeping their record up. Even if they did fall games short, Golden State holds the 8th position... Golden State is under .500, if Kobe isnt injured the Lakers are clear.

They will definitly make the playoffs. But it will be alot better if they can win more games and play the Rockets rather than the Spurs.

Yes, they will make the playoffs. Kobe is learning to trust his teammates and the Andrew kids is coming of age.

they will get like a 5-6 seed out of the west and lose in the second round...not enough consistent inside play to get them over against all of the top three teams in a long series where they dont have home court advantage...

I hope not. I really don't like the Lakers. I wouldn't say I hate them becuase that would be a little to much on my part. But I think the spurs will.

i think they'll make the playoffs but get bounced in the first round...since they couldn't acquire jason kidd they just do not have the parts around kobe to win a series against any of the upper tier teams in the west...kobe's overrated anyway

Yes, and they have a shot of getting to the second round. They don't have a shot of going further, though.
