Last month I had a remote starter put on and then right after, the service soon light, ABS, anc Traction off, lights came on. I took it back to the guy who did it and he couldn't figure out why they were on. I was not having problems until then, but now my brakes make noises and they seem to pump by themselves sometimes. I can also feel and hear a grinding noise now. I know it needs to go to the shop now but what do you think might have gone wrong?

A bad case of coincidence. Just like when your car doesn't start two days after you filled the tank. Your brakes, fronts probably, are completely worn down to the metal. Drive it as slowly as you can to the closest shop to have your brakes renewed..

You probably need new brakes. Have the codes read, because the check engine light will cause the traction control to turn off. The remote starter probably doesn't have anything to do with the problem. The grinding noise is probably your squealers on the front brakes. They are there to warn you that the linings of your brakes are ready to be replaced. Get it done soon, or you will be having to replace alot more brake parts (such as rotors) if you don't.

it may just need brakes there may not be a problem with the remote start i have one on a '96 gmc jimmy, with a remote start and i have no problem i also had a 04 pontic grand am and when it started squeekin it was the breaks. so i would have a machanic check it out and the breaks could be pumping themselfs because they need breakfulid, but if it is a manual then u could have the hydrolic clutch going out in it and that is a pain in the butt to have fixed i had that happen once and when it finnally broke the pedels went in out in again and then it just stopped working, so it could be anything wrong with it. but i would defantly have a machanic look at it

You could have an electrical short circuit,,causing the abs unit to engage,,which would cause the kinds of things you are describing.
Process of elimination,,,have the remote starter wiring disconnected,,and if the problem goes away,,then you know where it origionated.
