Believe it or not, one of the most important people in out history helped the slaves. This would be President Lincoln. He helped many slaves in the underground railroad. Look up his history online. He is one of the biggest in American history that helped the slaves.

Go on the enternet and look up Clara Brown. She was a slave for a long time. She help 26 slaves to get to Colordo to free them.
