Adobe Photoshop question?

I work with many layers. Mostly text layers. I used to be able to select a layer by right clicking (PC) and choosing the layer in the drop down menu. I then click anywhere on the screen to move that layer. NOW I can't do that anymore. I need to select the object precisely to move it which is a pain cuz I work with small text. How do I move layers without pointing on the object. It's not the nudge.

Select the layer in the Layers box and then move it using the arrow keys. A bit slow, but it works.
