Can you go through Magic Kingdom in just one day? YES. Will you see everything and totally enjoy yourself? NO.
You should get a guide book before your trip so you will have some time to look it over. If you get a book that is specific to Disney World, you will be able to browse the book, get an idea of what type of things are there and what you dont want to miss. Then you can concentrate your time on getting to do those things.
Personally, I would just relax and enjoy it and not rush. IF I had to choose certain things to do this is how my day would go..Get on the train as soon as I get there. Go to Toon Town (it is at the back of the park). Get my photo taken with Mickey & maybe some of the other characters. (First thing when the park opens, most people start from Main St. and work their way to the back- my way you avoid a line for photos).
Then some of the things I would NOT miss would be (in no particular order) Teacups, Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Carribean, It's a Small World, Mickey's Philharmagic (that is a MUST see), Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Railroad, Space Mountain, and for a relaxing ride (that is NEVER crowded and provides a lovely view of the park) the Tomorrowland Transit Authority.
Now there are many, MANY more things to do & see just in Magic Kingdom, (let's not even START talking about the other parks) There are parades, and shows, and fireworks and restaurants and more rides.....It would be impossible to "do" everything there. So, just enjoy those that you do get to.
Have a great vacation!

Hello - The Magic Kingdom is huge. You could spend several days there if you had the time. Any large bookstore or library will have guide books on Florida and the Magic Kingdom. My advice would be to read up on all the attractions and pick your favourites. The Magic Kingdom is not really in Orlando. It is in Kissimmee. So depending on where you are staying, your hotel will probably have daily transportation to the Disney property and if you are staying in the Orlando area for 6 days, you'll have plenty of time to go back and forth to the Magic Kingdom - make sure you buy a pass for several days if that's what you decide to do. Canyou do it in one day ?? .....sure. Arrive early, plan what you want to see before you arrive, and stay late. There are several other disney theme parks on the Disney property - for example Pleasure Island, Typhoon Lagoon, Downtown Disney, etc. Check your guide book or search on the net. There's also Seaworld, Universal, MGM, lots of shopping. Ther's lots to do in the Area. Remember that these tourist attractions all say they are in the Orlando area - they are not in the city of Orlando. So I would suggest you get a map or research online where you want to go so there are no surprises when you get there. The Beach is always a great place to go - remember your suntan lotion. Have Fun !

If you only picked out certain attractions you could see them all in one day, but there is really no way to see everything. I would suggest at least 2 days, and then you have not even scratched the surface of the other parks and attractions Disney has to offer. The beach is cool, maybe 2 days, but when we are that close to Disney, I just can't sit on a beach for an extended period.
Have a great trip! I too am going in April with the family for 9 days, all of them at Disney.

yes you can get through magice kingdom in one day but that is one full day. from open to close and you still wont be able to ride everything. use the fast passes and you will be able to do a lot more. the best places to go for sightseeing is downtown disney, and the board walk. they are great places and free.6 days in disney is a good amount of time to do a lot of fun things. we go every year for 8 days and we absolutely love it.

Magic Kingdom has a lot to see. I doubt you can see everything in one day. Of course, missing stuff just sets you up for another trip. As far as beaches, drive 2 hours to Anna Maria Island, Longboat Key or Treasure Island. It will be worth your time.
