Its not pain free. I had a rough time but my friends didn't. Here are some things that I wish I did.
1. When i got home, my mouth hurt but it was still kind numb so I couldn't swallow pain pills. I ended up crushing a pill and taking it with some apple sauce. It helped so much.
2. The doctor will tell you to put ice on your face. FOLLOW THIS. I didn't and my face swelled. I looked like a chipmunk and it hurt.
3. Before you go in stock up on some soft food. You won't be able to eat anything to hot or too cold for like a day so grab pudding, apple sauce, jello, ect.
4. Rent some good movies as if you have a rough time, you will be sitting home for a day or two.
Although I had a bad time, my wisdom teeth were impacted. I know people who were sore for a few hours and at a regular dinner. Even if you have a rough time, I was back to normal within two days although my face was swollen for a week.

They numb the area so it doesn't hurt much when they are taking them out (I had an IV and was asleep too) and after they are done you are groggy and have a lot of gauze in your mouth.
It does kind of hurt after but you will get some pain medications and stuff and afterwards it is also really sensitive to like hot and cold and your cheeks can swell up a little bit.
Ice on alternating sides of your face helped a lot. It is different for everybody but for me it really wasn't that bad.

shouldn't hurt if U get gas or novacain...maybe a little sore afterwards. Getting mine out didn't bother me but I have a high tolerance for dental pain.
