It has to be small, and easy to make, and require welding (stick, gas, wire feed). Thanks!

Make a metal coffee mug with copper. Use a flat copper plate. Cut it to size and using the bending machine turn it to a cylinder. Solder the seam. Then, Solder a flat plate on the bottom and cut around the base.

Then take a copper tube and make a handle by cutting roughly 6 inches of 1/4 inch dia pipe , press the ends and bend them inwards so you can solder it to the cup. Make sure you solder to the opposite end of the seam of the cup itself.

enjoy...

My son had to do the same thing, he ended up welding a large ant with legs and the antannae. The size is about one foot long and about one foot high (with the antannea bent). The body is one solid peace of metal cut into the shape of an ant.

You weren't kidding when you told That Guy you were going to ask a good question soon! You're a classic! Um, in answer to your question, I'm not sure you'd be welded to the chair but I imagine it would hurt like hell! :P

how about a high standing candle holder? a friend of mine made one about 4 ft tall that stood in a corner in his house and said it was real simple to make. it held about 8-10 dinner candles, but you can make it as big or as small as you like to hold how ever many you like.
