I've seen it before. Where is the selection point (switch, etc.) that you click to enable hibernation of the computer when control is pressed along with the button, instead of just "Standby" as the only option?

You set it up yourself. I believe it is
START
CONTROL PANEL
POWER OPTIONS
HIBERNATE.
But I could be wrong. . . .

You have to go start, then click on the button which you would use to shut down the computer normally, hold down the shift key. This will now turn the "Standby" option into the "Hibernate" option.

Press the Power button on your computer, the one that suddenly shut down your computer, but only press it for one second and it will hibernate. Have a great day.

On shutdown if you hold SHIFT key,a sudo Hibernate will appear. But like Steve Gibson's WIZMO!

That little script, and a few others he wrote are some of the best XP utilities to add to a system.
