I live near S.F. so I would like to be near the strip, not really on the strip (about 15-20 minutes away at the furthest). I have to get a place there before I move, so I was wondering what are good areas and what are the bad areas? I will be looking on craigslist so I dont want to get stuck in the ghetto. Thanks!

Stay away from North Las Vegas.

Other than that, there's no terrible area.

Hi, there. The best areas (in my opinion, of course) are Summerin and The Lakes. West Vegas & Henderson are also nice.
North Vegas is iffy. Some of it is alright but a lot of it isn't. Anything near the airforce base is questionable and anything near the strip (like downtown) is BAD.

Really don't want to be near Strip as not near the places you need to function normally. Too easy to get there to worry about that. Henderson & Summerlin are the 2 top areas but I like the east side near Sams Town myself. Cheap and conveniently near the basics - goroceries, banks, etc.

send me an email to stevemincer@yahoo.com and tell me if you are looking to buy or rent and then what your price range is and i will find you something. i'm a realtor in las vegas and i specialize in finding homes for new people and YOU never have to pay me any kind of fee. the landlord or owner of the house does that.
