Well, the permutations are as follows;

1. If they play a draw (0:0) - Arsenal is out.
2. If they play a draw (1:1) - Arsenal is out.
3. If Arsenal wins by one goal (1:0) - then they go to penalties after extra time to decide the winner.
4. If Arsenal wins by two goals to one (2:1), then Arsenal is out on "away goal rule".
5. If Arsenal wins by two goals to none (2:0), then PSV is out - Arsenal goes through to the next round.

So, Arsenal need to satisfy either condition 3 or condtion 5 to advance in the Champions League.

Arsenal needs to play like Arsenal, but they also need to take this game seriously. They can't just think that they will automatically beat PSV, or it will end in a tie, or if PSV gets lucky, even worse. Arsenal can win 1-0 and force the tie, or they can win by at least two goals. They should be able to win by two goals, but like I said, they can't underestimate PSV.

Prediction: Arsenal 4-2 over PSV in a high scoring, high stakes, and hard fought game. Maybe a few more cards than usual too.

Arsenal must now win the return match at the Emirates Stadium in London by two clear goals to have any chance of progressing to the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions' League. if the return match ended in a draw, the Dutch side, PSV Eindhoven will progress instead as they have won 1-0 in the first match & a goal advantage.

all teams which qualified to the quarter-finals will know who they face in the quarter-finals when the draw for the quarter-finals & semi-finals of the UEFA Champions' League will be made by UEFA on Friday, 09 March 2007 in Athens, Greece, the venue for this season's UEFA Champions' League final.

Well, they lost in Eindoven, which means that in case of a tie PSV goal only counts as one....so if arsenal won 1-0: penalties if they tie there out...and if they won 2-1 PSV advances beacuase remember that visitant goals count as two..
Bottom line: They have to win with more than 2 goals and not let PSV score, or they have to win with an advantage of 2 goals..example 3-1 4-2 2-0
