From the time of conception to age 18??? ALOT. Now multiply that by sat 4 kids(that's how many I have). I have 2 in college and am paying for that and still have one age 10 and one age 12.They are costing more then their older siblings are b/c they are in band and choir and baton and cheer leading and soccer and theatricals.
SEE WHERE I AM HEADING??? I had my oldest at 17,and am still paying for him.I actually pay child support on my children including my 21 year old,b/c in my state you have to pay child support up to 24 years of age if they are in school.

Well I have "really good" insurance too..
From the moment they confirm you are pregnant at you OBGYN...EVERYTHING is covered except a $250 co pay at the hospital when you are admitted for delivery.
They paid for every doctor visit, every ultrasound ( I had 5), they paid for my specialist (I had gestational diabetes) and they paid for everything in the hospital for me and the baby.
My total bill at the hospital alone was $22,000 and I actually left a day early...All I had to pay was the $250.

Do you mean over 18 years?
Because that's how long you will remain responsible for her/him.
And that is not to mention trying to put money aside to help your child through college or whatever school they choose after highschool.
The cost of the delivery and the pre-natal/post-partum care is minimal considering the obligation you are taking on.
Of course, I'm sure you are already prepared to provide a loving home with a partner who is secure financially and as responsible as you are.
I mean, who would have a child and not prepare for it?

You mean for the actual birth? About $15,000.
(for the hospital, the OB-GYN, the nursery, the pediatrician who examines the baby, and lab fees) From the moment you leave the hospital till they get out on their own? A whole lot more than that!!!
