I have a dog (Dachshund) and a white cat that we adopted. We have sacrificed time and money to give them a home.

Do you ever read the rest of the story? We have sacrificed vacations because of our red weiner dog. We will not leave her alone if we cannot find a caring home for her( usually my sister in law with her two dogs and we reciprocate.) Read before you judge.

I love my cat...she was rescued by some guys down the street along with her mother and siblings. They all made their way to homes around the neighborhood (the guys were smart...they lived by the pool and brought the kittens outside in the afternoons while the neighborhood kids were swimming.) I remember saying to my son, "We don't need another cat." He is smart, too. "Can I just bring it and show it to you, Mom?"
It took about 60 seconds for Ace to wiggle her way into our home and our hearts. She is so much fun. I love her to pieces and she makes me laugh everyday. She always has the bug-eyed look as in my avatar, so she's comical. And very affectionate. Last week she tried to get my daughter's hermit crab ...I could envision myself taking a cat to the vet with a crab latched onto her nose.

I sacrificed a lot of time and money on my two ferrets that I had...they were awesome pets, but when they got sick some ashholes suggested to just kill them...to go get new ones.
Stupid ignorant individuals....
I nursed them , hand fed them when they couldn't eat by themselves.
Unfortunately both of them died...but they had a great life and I had great joy.
And let's not forget Cool Cat.
Some jerk put that little kitty in a box and threw it in my backyard.
Had that little grey cat for many many years....he is now playing with the ferrets where pets go when they die....smile
Just because they are animals they are not less loved than a child, if I had any , and who would get rid of their kids when they get sick or are not convenient anymore...oh yeah ...I forgot....,I know two of them...

Some days I think animal sacrifice should be resurrected.
Take my cat for instance.
He takes extreme pleasure in irking me by staring me down when I eat (he is sitting on my lap) or he will scratch the couch instead of his post, just to tick me off.
That's when a meat cleaver enters my mind....lol

I adopted this lovable little terror from the SPCA and he does give me a lot of pleasure.

Gorky, some peeps in here just don't get it and never will.

Your someone who should not own a pet. Obviously whoever did your adoption did not do a good background check. When you adopt a pet you are doing it for life. I adopted mine. I wanted to give him a forever home. I love him more than anything in this world. There is no vet bill too high, no time is too much time, and no love is too much love. I get it all back in return from him. He is my savior and my angel. A pet is not to benefit your life. You should benefit theirs too. I get so upset with people who think how cute I want one and they decide it is too much and they don't want it and let it go or put in a shelter. What is wrong with you?

What kind of a post is that?? What are you looking to hear? Personally I was relieved to read that you didn't sacrifice your cat and dog. Thats what I thought you were going to say.
