By bad, I mean lines in the pics and off colors. Would replacing the print heads solve this problem ? Its about 3 yrs old and I know I can replace it for under $100, but the print heads are only about $12 a piece and it only needs 2. Thanks in advance.

Have you cleaned the print heads? You have a utility to do that. All you have to do is go to PRINTERS and right-click the Deskjet d135. Select Properties. You should see a utility on one of the tabs for aligning and cleaning the print heads.

You can try cleaning the print heads with the cleaning utility that comes with the printer. But failing that then buying new ones at that price is not a bad idea.

But try cleaning first because mine was like that i use a epson c46 and i used the cleaning program that come with the printer and that solved it. If it works then you dont have to spend money :) which is always good. ;)

At 3 years old it's lived it's useful life. Buying a new desk jet would be a better plan than putting money into the old one. Besides you get the newer technology working for you.

From my experience, I do not reccommend purchasing refurbished ink cartridges. Purchasing name brand such as, HP or Lexmark, etc.. is the way to go. Refurbished ink cartridges I have discovered are purchased from Staples brand, Office Depot brand, etc... leave a vivid green color turn pink.
