I am a 7th grade and I'm having trouble deciding which topic I should choose for my persuasive essay in language arts. I narrowed it down to these 6:

*Gay Marriage/Military
*Adoption
*Animal Abuse
*Highschool Dropouts
*Media Exposure
*Rights of Children/Teen

Does anyone have any good reasons why I should or should not do one of these topics (all topics listed are accepted to be done in my class)

You have to pick a topic that YOU feel strongly about ,not a topic that WE feel strongly about. You are basicly going to have to persuade someone that they should accept your point of view (that's why they call it a persuasive essay)
Do you feel that gays should/should not be accepted into the Military? Convince me.
Do you feel that adoption should be regulated by Social Services or be privately arranged so that adoptive parents can pay to adopt a child? Convince me.
Do you think that people convicted of abusing animals should only be given a fine or should they do time in jail? Convince me.
Do you think that students should be allowed to drop out of high school at age 16 or 18? convince me.

This is what you have to do in a persuasive writing assignment.

You can try persuading that global warming is bad and how its hurting earth. I recently wrote a persuasive essay on changeing the legal drinking age. It's difficult at first but once you've started its easy. Just do some research and put what you found out in there like that ocean levels are riseing and that the ice caps are melting and the animals are dieng etc. Good luck and remember to do a lot of research.

I would be proud of you for selecting "adoption" since we are faced with overpopulation in our country and have a suplus, if you will, of orpahned and neglected children.

There are so many agencies in our country and other countries, that have an abundance of children without parents. Does it get any sadder than that? You can certainly get some info from these children's homes to help you with the facts and figures for your essay.

We could never be more noble than to take a child into our home and raise them as if from our own blood. This is just as rewarding as giving them life, actually twice as rewarding!

Well if you want to get a really good grade, pick a statement that's really hard to convince someone of. Like "Global warming does not exist". Because almost everyone knows that it is a problem, but if you were able to persuade someone of the opposite, then you did a great job!

I suppose there must be someone out there who has a good reason.

Most of us don't give a toss!

Do what one you think will be the best to do and the easiest.
