Hold your menu and action button down both at the same time. The screen should disappear and the apple symbol should appear.

Reset your iPod by holding down "Menu" and the middle button for 5 - 10 Seconds and the apple logo will appear. This will not erase or harm any files or music.

plug it into your computer, and you should have itunes on it. soo usually it will update it self. so thers a button that says "restore", press it. it'll swipe out all info and it will start again with the logo. then i think its gonna ask you something about your music...then you can go from there.

i went through this a billion times, until the guy at the store found out my iPod was "corrupt" maybe you should go ask at the apple store.
