i always loved the name nicole and decided that if i had a girl i was naming her middle name nicole but last week my husband told me that his ex's middle name was nicole would you still use that name if it was your husband's ex's name or something else?

i would have a hard time using my husbands ex's name.....but its all up to you.......

It depends on how your husband felt about the ex. If everything left on good terms with those two then it should be alright.....but if you're husband is just really uncomfortable with you choosing that name then don't do it. But try to explain to him how much it means to you having your daughter's middle name nicole. see if he'll see your side of it.

Its really up to you how you feel about this, if you feel secure enough, then why not. I also love the name Nicole sind I was a little girl and that's a long time ago. As long as it is the middle name go for it.

I'd use a different one. My dad picked my name and later my mom found out it was one of has ex girlfriends names lol. I never get to hear the end of it now.

It would be different if he thought of it, but since you did, keep it. For now you might think about it being her middle name too, but over time his ex will become bigger and bigger of a blur and your daughters middle name will be her own.
Then again, if it were me, I wouldn't want his ex to secretly think he chose it in dedication to her. That's me

If my husband was uncomfortable with the name I would select something else. Talk it over before making a decision.

Yes I would still use it because it really shouldnt bother him unless he is not over her and if you really like the name then I would choose it anyway also its only a middle name you're not going to use it very often I hope this helps.

I wouldn't use an ex's name. It'll forever be a reminder to him of the woman...and more than likely you'll remember the ex at inapporpriate times.

It's up to you, but i'd use a different name. I liked the name Katherine, but my hubby has an ex named Katherine so I wouldn't use it.
