Yes, B/C It is not the critic that counts, Not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles or where the doer of deeds could of done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena. Who's face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, Who strives valiantly, Who errs and comes short again and again because there is no effort with out error and shortcomings, Who knows the great devotion, Who spends himself in a worthy cause. Who knows in the end the high achievement of triumph, and if he fails, while daring greatly, knows his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.

T. Roosevelt

I read this in chicken soup for the soul and it's the only passage I ever took the time to memorize. It has been a while and I'm pretty sure I didn't leave anything out. At any rate, such a man could be president in any time, or place. Well, if the ballot boxes weren't counted in Florida by the Bush's and their cronies.

Not for the republican party that he was a part of years ago. Trust busting Teddy wouldn't even be a republican today, he would be a liberal in most people's eyes. He could never be responsible for building the Panama Canal with today's politics. I think if he were around today with the stances he had in years long gone, he would be a minor player in either political party. Too bad, we need someone like him at the helm.

Cons would call him a commie leftist America hater for his environmental stance. Teddy Roosevelt would slap the crap out of modern republicans.

I think so-- we need more bold and forthright people running for president. TR was a strong national security type of guy but also an avid environmentalist.

I think that Teddy would easily be elected. Though the Left would complain about his love for the Military and the Right would complain about his environmentalism, both would see him as a great man.
