I was just wondering if anyone else notice that, black woman that relaxe and weave their hair seem to be very ghetto, ignorant, loud, vain, brain washed and have a false since of pride. While natural black woman seem to have better manners, humble, more accepting of theirselves and true culture.

It just seems to me that the fake black woman are programed to be more of a devil and more of the media's victim.

Men are noticing this also, and men are not attracted to somebody who is fake from top to bottom. Fake hair, fake face (make-up), fake nails and toe nails, fake eye color, fake handbag. Those kind of women are nice to take out for a day or two, but they are not something you wont to bring home to you mother, because at the end of the day you really dont know who she is, everything about her is fake. Natural women have many perks, one of the best one is that in the morning when you wake up with them everyday you see exactly the same person you saw the day before, not a whole different person as you would with a "faked up" girl. You really dont know whats underneath all that fakeness.

Your numbers are correct. I as a black woman can only tell you what I have been told by black men: Your cute by too dark for me. 2. I need to be less assertive ( I will not put up with nonsense i.e. coming in at 3am smelling like Chanel No.5 and believing that you were really over moms house.) and three, I am too strong willed ( I go to school, go to work and take care of the bills, I can handle my own). I don't have the stereotype "black girl attitude" but I don't put up with crap and because of this, I think black men who only date outside the black race are intimidated. As far as black women being 70% single mothers, I think that too many black men have grown up in this type of household and though they know it is wrong to keep the single mother pattern going, they at the same time do not know how to handle working a two parent home. So when problems arise it is easier to turn tail and run than too work things because they have not been taught differently. And yes, black women are the fastest growing AIDS population but AIDS is a universal problem that transcends race. However as a health care worker I can say that I have seen more denial of AIDS in the black community. Many black people I have encountered do not believe the test when they were told they were HIV positive and many sign out the hospital AMA (against medical advice.)

Well that's not all together true because I know many successful establish sisters and most of them perm their hair except for a small few with dreads. The ones with the extremely big, colorful and extreme hairstyles would be more on the "ghetto" or even southern side. I will say that it is better to wear your natural African hair but I won't go as far as to say they are more programmed of the devil because that sounds strange. They are you can say "the media's victim" and a victim of a largely Euro-centric society and they wear their badges of shame on their head and on their body. I do feel sympathy for them in their predicament because its difficult to love your natural kinky hair when you've been taught to hide it since childhood and most Euro-centric people will say that its nappy, ugly and considered "bad hair". I personally don't like anyone that is ignorant or loud.

Natural black women. I can't completely disagree with your observation, but personally I chose not to have a perm or other chemical hair treatment because it destroys the hair. But still, the media does to seem to create a misrepresentation of all black women as having the weave, the clothes, and the nails. But still, even though clothes make the person, their attitude or personality is completely individual, not brought on as a by-product of their clothes.

I do not agree, this is just another stereotype from another prejudiced person. Note that I haven't stated "racist" because you are, presumably, of the black race... I get relaxers, I am not ghetto, ignorant, loud, brainwashed, and nor do I have a false sense of pride. I know quite a few "natural" women who are loud and ghetto, and I know more than a few classy beweaved women who have good educations and high paying jobs. Your statement is insubstantial, has no basis other than your own speculations. I choose to wear my hair relaxed, just as you choose to wear your natural, I tried the natural for about two years, I had a jet black glossy fro, but after awhile I got tired of the upkeep. I think its easier with perm. People are free to choose, and to judge someone on how they maintain their hair is pretty shallow of you. Oh, and by the by, your spelling and grammar need a little work.

Natural hair is a sign of strength. That much I agree with. But some of our sisiters havent taken that step yet, it doesn't mean that they are ghetto (but maybe a little brainwashed, just a tincy bit)

I have heard the management issue, But maybe I dont know enough about me. It seems to me that not having to chemically treat your hair would be less management, but I have no clue. Im a dude.

Oshihana-Im speechless. I feel for any man that happens upon you.

A star for the question !
Interesting!
Every natural lookin Black woman looks more beautiful than the blonde weave victim Beyonce. And when i say natural, i dont just mean ladies wit an afro puff, i also mean Black ladies wit straigthened hair as long as its their natural color (either Black or dark brown etc) . such women have class ! Hence Beyonce shud not b treated as a Black qeen role model for any teenegers , shes very average wihtout class (as 4 looks) an yes she can sing ok.Anyway shes a media's victim that influenced her dad Mathew Knowles etc.

That might be true to a certain degree, but it's never all. Classy women come in all colors and hair textures. I think a lot that do relax their hair and wear weaves are brainwashed, some of these women give me dirty looks for wearing my hair in it's natural state. I do sometimes straighten my hair but that's just for a different look sometimes, but I love my hair afro textures. It's beautiful! Beauty to me is so complex, you don't have to have long straight hair to be beautiful.

After having my hair done that way (from a need to distane myself from a disliked culture)--it wasn't worth it. All that cra_p messed me up and I went back to natural--finding things to restore my scalp to a healthy state. I can fully say that after I stopped with all of that, I gained a new appreciation for my culture and its mother culture--I even got involved in more matters that affect blacks.

Oshihana..there are no words, but you are right on few things. Yes people will want to try to fit in...I did. Want to know why? Because I couldn't be accepted as who I was for African beauty--now I have given the dominant American culture the middle finger--at least to those who say "it must be the only way or we'll shun you."

anyone of any race who overdoes the hair, make-up etc crap obviously appears more trashy and less intelligent. if only for the reason the spend too much money on trivial and stupid crap.
also, given a choice of showing a reasonable, well dressed conservative person, or a overdone, over the top hoochie, who do you think the news editor is going to put on TV?
