Just short bits of scripts would be okay, too. Also, scripts from early American theatre would be nice. This is for a Drama class project; we need to give the class an example of the kind of thing that would be done during a certain time period. My category s Meloadrama/Early American Theatre. Yeah, there was a Bantam Book about 30 years ago that did just what you're looking for. It took melo parts out of full scenes. If you can't find that book, I suggest almost anything from A Streetcar Named Desire. You don't have to be Marlon or Vivian to do that really well.

Look at The Importance of Being Earnest, Arsenic and Old Lace, or Hayfever. Streetcar is not mellowdrama, nor is it "early."
