ringtone question?

I have a LG 8100 and was wondering how or if i can set "my sounds" as a ringtone.

Go to a tone or tune, whilst in it press the menu.
Do you get the option to 'APPLY AS RINGTONE'?

I'm not completely positive as I have never had a LG phone...but I know that if your sounds are little snippets of real music than it may be possible to apply as ring tones. But if "my sounds" are things that you recorded or whole length songs...than don't bet on it.
