without more information its impossible for me to give you a definite answer, but if it has on board video, you will be lucky if it has a pci express slot. But if it does then yes it should work you will just have to get the vista drivers for it or it may cause problems with vista. and yes it should be better than the on board video.

my honest opinion as a side web designer for 11 yrs and been on these boxes since the Commodore Vic 20 since I was like 12 yrs old.

Return the eMachine. Its the junkiest of the junk. Take that money you spent and get on eBay and find a 1 or 2 yr old used machine that is good. Like a Sony Vaio or something.

I bought my Media Tower by Vaio off eBay. $2700 new, got it one year old and paid $725. Decked out w/ everything you could eve want, I have like 9 USB ports, I have my nvida card in and running flawlessly with dual 21" flat screens. I then spent extra $100 and maxed out my RAM.

I'd say away from eMachines and Vista, for both are trouble. To combine them....might as well through it out the window, cause it will make you go bald from pulling your hair out.

the new chip sets are made for the vista OS. i don't think there are drivers for your card yet. i would put your card away for a few months and wait. i have seen the new eMachines and they are really a good machine.

It may not work. If the card is AGP, but the new Emachine has a PCIE bus, you won't get it to work. You'll have to buy a PCIE card or a PCI, but you don't want to go back to that.
