Vintage is like a old player like from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and the early 80's.

By the way Malice, Earvin Johnson is a good player but a terrible role model. Sure he delt with aids but aids is a STD and he got it by doing bad things with other woman

A no-brainer for me: The magic man, Earvin Johnson Jr.! In my humble opinion, perhaps the greatest player to play the game. Sure, His Airness had game, but Magic could play ANY POSITION, and did! His 1979 NCAA national college championship game vs Larry Bird's Indiana was the most watched NCAA Basketball game EVER (he led Michigan State to win that!)... he was the tallest point guard in the history of the game. In his first NBA season his Lakers met the 76ers in the finals, and after Kareem Abdul-Jabbar went down with a severely sprained ankle in the 5th game, Johnson the point guard started at CENTER in game 6! He ended up playing EVERY POSITION that game, won it - which meant the Lakers won the series - & was named the MVP for the finals... the ONLY ROOKIE EVER to win that award!
An amazing player - and an amazing man! His work with AIDS & fighting that disease with the Magic Johnson Foundation is excellent, and his successes post-playing perhaps even outweigh his success as a player! His net-worth is valued now in the hundreds of millions! A true role-model.

Of those I saw play, Patrick Ewing was my favorite and then Kareen Abdul-Jabbar.
Of those I wish I had, Willis Reed. Not the same skills as Russell and Chamberlain, but tougher. Chamberlain said the player he was most afraid to go up against was Reed, inclduing Russell, because he knew he was in for a fight.

i like wilt chamberlain because he averaged 50 points in one nba season and then has a career average of 20 something rebounds (amazing!). 70 something triple doubles.
oscar robertson because in one season he averaged a triple double (31 points, 12 rebounds, 11 assists) and in other seasons was close (28 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds and such).Holds record for most triple doubles.
magic johnson because he can play all posistions and can beast it up on any player on any team.
larry bird because he shot 50% from the field, 50% from 3-point land, and 90% at the foul line. also dishes out lots of assists and grabs lots of rebounds. gotta love the guy.
julius erving and dominque wilkins because of their amazing dunks.
hakeem olajuwon because he dominated the paint and owns the record for most career blocks.

I like the Big O, people make a big deal about players getting a few triple doubles during the entire season.
The Big O averaged a triple double for his entire career.
