Somewhat. I think men and women should show their love for each other year round. One gift out of the year shouldn't excuse laziness throughout the rest of the year. But it's still exciting. I love color and the way it blends together, so I really like seeing all of the pinks, whites, and reds everywhere. It makes you feel cheery when, from where I am, it's snowy and cold outside. I don't need this holiday, though. I have a great man in my life who is my best friend. He's crazy about my children and me, and really loves to give me massages when he thinks I'm either stressed out or PMSing.

A lot of people feel that its just a made up holiday as an excuse to spend money. And maybe it is. And a lot of people say that you shouldnt need one day to designate showing love to one another becuase you should do it everyday. And you most certainly dont have to do it with materialistic things. But i think that even though we love the people we love everyday (or almost everyday) its great to have a day to RECOGNIZE how much we love one another. The only down fall of valentines day is that the people who do have a valentine have all this built up expectation and the people that dont have a valentine just hate the holiday all together. Sounds like a day full of disappoint me to me....=( but for the record i like valentines day

I believe i have answered this question many times, before, and since Valentines Day. The answer was no, they were not even close to being around when this day was started, but then back then it was a lot simpler, cause all you had to do is tell the person how much you loved them, or give them a simple kiss to let them know how you felt, or go out and pick soome flowers oout of the feild, nothing like today where, everyone seems to be really intersted in what their gift cost, and that kind of s*it.

I think this Holiday was defiantly set up to increase sales in retail.
But so was Christmas. Without some of these holidays the economy would collapse

It is, but if people trully enjoy celebrating, I see no harm in it. I do think it can be far too much a source of pressure these days for some of us.

Yes, along with Mother's Day, Father's Day, Grandparents Day. I try and honor my mother, father and grandparents everyday. I don't need a day to remind me that I have great family or love my loved ones.

Yes...I don't need someone to tell me what is the most important day to express my love for someone...I express my love daily...so why should I buy into this just to raise revenue for the stores...not doing it.
