Classic lounge acts, jazz standards, stuff like that.

Try "Cheek to Cheek," by Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, 40s swing and jazz.

I agree with Del_Icio for the most part. I too appreciate your asking. Everyone I know say things like, "I like Beethoven's Fifth, that's a good song." I've nearly slapped I think 23 people since I moved here. I actually would not call every piece with vocals a song, however. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony does not contain a "song," and I would never called the Hallelujah section of Handel's Messiah a song. Secular and sacred choral works should probably be referred to as "works" and "pieces." Favorite song: I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General Favorite piece: too many to list, but Vivaldi's Four Seasons, Saint-Saëns's piano concertos, Beethoven's symphonies, to start. Also, if you can afford an 88-key keyboard or a small upright, you can always use YouTube and other online websites to begin learning the piano.

Depends on what's expected. Something kinda romantic is Could I have this Dance(for the rest of my life). An old but goodie is Fly me to the Moon! Unless you know how to Waltz, I would stay away from Waltz music(although it can be beautiful, gliding across the floor).. there are so many. Are you and your daughter dancing to this together? What is your favorite? I take it your daughter doesn't know what she wants.
