THE WHO Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, John Entwistle and Keith Moon. They were a phenomenon onstage.
Freddie Mercury was the ultimate consumate showman and there was no doubt he had the entire crowd at any show in the palm of his hand.
Based on the list you gave I'll add Al Green, I saw him in the 70's and it was going to church from the get go. He was fantastic.

If I had to base it on the crowds reaction, I would have to say when The Prodigy toured with "Fat Of The Land" and KMFDM back in the 80's. I never seen a crowd so crazy!
