community where most everyone knows what's going on
in town, my friends wife has been hanging around a divorced girl, rumored to be bisexual. They have been
really close for a while. They dressed alike, wore same
hairstyles, and partied together. They are no longer
friends because she told several people that my
friend's wife was gay. He emphatically denies this, yet
he states that his wife never approached her about the
accusation. It was heard from a person in the group
that she told. Do you think that my friend is in denial,
and is it normal for a straight women to have such a
close relationship with a gay single female? Interested
in the opinion of gay people. Please no derogatory
remarks from others.

Most gay people have had sex relationship
with the opposite sex. Some live that way
to impress others family and friends.

Um, well as far as my experience goes, yeah...I don't see what the issue is about having a female friend who happens to be bi or gay but the other is straight. My sister-in-law and I were very close friends but we NEVER had a physical relationship of any sort.
She's my brother's wife for crying out loud!! That's just not right.

Anyway...no one ever accused her of being gay or of us being "too close." We were best of friends, we traveled together (since my partner doesn't much like to travel), we went to each others' kids school stuff (concerts, gymnastics meets, band concerts...etc), we shared everything (well except for intimate details of our perspective partners...eewww she was married to my brother!! ) The only reason we're not seen together anymore is because she died recently, which has devastated our entire family.

most "small town" rumors start off as truthful but the story really gets twisted out of context in a hurry. i'd just ignore the rumors.. if this person is your friend, then her sexual orientation shouldn't matter to you..

how can a person in a straight marraige be gay anyway? that just doesn't make sense.. bi, maybe..
