The Steelers, even though they had an off year, were still close to making the playoffs. They are returning most of their starters and should be a healthier team in 2007. Let's face it, for some reason it seemed Coach Cowher was not as intense as in years past. Maybe finally winning the Super Bowl got him complacent. I think the new coach (Mike Tomlin) will bring a new intensity and new ideas to the team. Their main problem lies in the CB position where the Steelers could improve themselves in the draft. They also must replace Pro Bowl Center Jeff Hartings. I honestly think you'll see a much improved team next year and its even possible that a rookie coach gets them back to the Super Bowl. Go Steelers!

I'm a big Steelers Fan as well and we just had an off year. In the Draft we either need a big bruising RB or a maybe a young LB like Penn States Paul Posluskny because our LB's are getting kind of old and we need some young defensive players. Our weaknesses are our secondary Troy is the key there and other than that we ain't got much elae. Taylor played well in 05 but slacked off big time in 06. Bryant McFadden stepped up his game and he should make an impact in 07. As for the Super Bowl our chances aren't looking so good with the Colts Pats and Chargers all in the AFC but i think we make the Playoffs and we'll be back in contention in 2008.

Well since the Steelers are going to switch from a 3-4 defense to a 4-3 defense, they need to draft a big defensive end or at least one that is not undersized. They could also use a big bruising runnig back like Jerome Bettis was. I wouldnt say they have a shot at the superbowl, but they will compete for a playoff spot.

Who Dey! Go Bengals! Sorry had to do that. But in my honest opinion the Steelers have TONS of potenial with all the talent they have on thier team. The problems I saw with them last year was that the injuries to Big Ben in the offseason kinda stayed with him all through the season. Also losing Hines for part of the season, put on a hurting as well. Another factor I saw was that after losing "The Bus", they didn't have a reliable go to guy for the end zone. They could get to the end zone no problem, but once there, they were lack luster. I think in the draft they need to go after a good quality WR. You have Hines and then some mediocre guys that you can never tell how they are going to play that week. Hope this answers your question!

Rest assured Fellow fan . We are going to kick butt...Hopefully
we are not going to lose anyone but Hardings. But we will
be Ok. there If we shore up the offensive line.. we will be untouchable... Ben has been working out a lot lifting and strength
conditioning. Live in Pittsburgh . But the word is he is making
the rounds with Pitt coeds... regularly... I guess that comes with
the age.. I am hoping no jealous bfs here...a bullet might be
worse than an motorcycle accident...Be careful Ben...He is our
key to our next Super Bowl win.. Go Steelers

I would suggest, for Ben Roethlisberger's physical and mental well being, that the Steelers bring in a backup QB for when they play the Ravens. Fourteen sacks in two games is just vicious, especially when he called a sack by Bart Scott the hardest he's ever been hit in his life...and he got hit by a car on a motorcyle just months prior and he still called this the hardest hit he's ever taken. I'm sure he would be a much happier guy if he didn't see the Baltimore Ravens on his schedule twice a year.

They need more help in the recieving department, Santonio Holmas alone last year isn't cutting it. They need help on the offensive line as well (especially since Hartings retired). An upgrade at CB/FS wouldn't hurt either.
realistically they don't have too good of chance. The Ravens and Bengals are on more a streak than they are, and then there's the Colts, Pats, and Chargers for other AFC competition.
**Guy below me -- despite what experts say, Tomlin isn't switching to the 4-3, that's suicide. He's keeping dick lebeau as the DC rather than call the defensive plays himself, plus he outright stated that he's not changing

First off they need to figure out what to do with Ben. He is one of the most overrated QBs in the NFL. I view him as the next coming of Dilfer. RBs are good but a bruiser would be a nice addition. WR and TE are fine. OL and DL like every team could be improved. LBs are ok and secondary can use some help as well. Also I am not overly confident in their coach. They have little to no chance of going to the Super Bowl with about 10 AFC teams better than them.

they need a reliable #2 receiver behind hines ward, and they desperately need some help at CB...ike taylor got a fat contract and stopped working hard as a result, so they're gonna need someone who can push him, assuming he'll even get his starting spot back
i don't think they have much chance of making it to the super bowl, their conference is just too strong right now with indy, new england, san diego, baltimore and teams on the rise like tennessee, jacksonville, cincinnati, jets, buffalo
