I have a deformed right leg and i live in a duplex is it posible to .
Transfer to another apartment with out paying more in rent due to my handicap? P.S. My bathroom is at the top of the stairs

Im not tryin to get a discount i just want him to keep it at the same im paying now

They cannot charge more due to a handicap but if the apartment is listed for more they have every right to charge that amount. Any special improvements that need to be made for someone handicapped is the responsibility of the handicapped person. The owner has a right to approve or disapprove the change. I am assuming that there is another apartment for you to move to and it cost more. Yes if it cost more they have a right to charge it but cannot increase the price because you are handicapped. Check the 'Fair Housing Act of 1988' and your local 'Human Relations Commission'.

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, your landlord has to consider "reasonable accommodation" (availability) to comply with your request.

S/he cannot charge you more rent than the apartment would normally lease for. Simply because you have a deformity is not a basis to claim a discount rate on the rent.
