I definitely prefer a one-story home. I am a very clumsy person and I know I would fall down the stairs everyday and trip going up the stairs everyday. Hahaha.

it depends on the layout of the house but I think I would prefer a two-story.

Two story house sucks if you ever do any remodeling... carrying sheets of 3/4 inch plywood up the stairs is a real mofo!!!

2 story. I like that you would escape upstairs to your bedroom, where you could sleep with all the windows open without fear (much fear, that is) of someone breaking in or spying on you. I like that it's away from the rest of the house - it makes it more of a refuge.

And you have better views.
