how do you check up on mimi and see if she's ok in the house after you go to hers. and how do you figure out what's going on at toanes gym??

you need to get on your scooter/car/whatever and click and choose visit...then choose mimi, and when you are done, choose toanes gym...

I like the Sims 2 better. You can control them like you said plus there are better interactions and the meal creation thing is neat.
