I'm not sure I understand - you moved the pressure plate?!?! You are talking about pressure plate, right? That's the thing that is bolted to the flywheel? That's what is called pressure plate.
How can it possibly be moved? Oh, I see - you can (thoretically) insert washers between the pressure plate in the flywheel BUT(!) first, it would require trans and pressure plate removal - why not to replace it if it's out? and second, it will only increase clearance between the pressure plate and the flywheel thus causing slippage.
OK, let's get serious here.
I have no choice but to make assumptions because I don't know what "soft clutch pedal" is, I have heard this term (and know what it means) when it comes to brakes but clutch....
So, - apparently - it takes less effort to push the clutch pedal. Is shifting normal - any grinding in reverse? If not, there is not air in the system, and clutch is not dragging. Good.
Now, is clutch slipping? - it usually starts in high gear. What I mean under "slipping" is: engine RMP increases while vehicle speed does not follow.
Well, in any case - unless you can outline your question in a more precise manner - you need to replace the following components: throwout bearing, clutch disk and pressure plate - don't move it anywhere - replace!

probably the hydraulic system. the master cylinder and slave cylinder are common problems. As long as you can still change gears ok, the clutch is still ok. If the hydraulic system continues to worsen, you will likely be unable to change gears easily and have to shut the engine off to get it in gear. This is because the hydraulic system is not allowing enough travel for the clutch to release. If you can still change all gears, then the fingers on the clutch cover are probably getting weak. This means a new clutch.

Ahhh, Daniel-son, I too am curious as to how you moved the pressure plate back 'just a little'. do tell us, grasshopper, how this was accomplished so we, the unenlightened, may bask in the joy of your wisdom. Well, seriously guy leave the wrenching to those who know, and understand the workings of vehicles. Replace the clutch, pressure plate, and throw-out bearing, possibly the pilot bearing too.

As others have suggested, the noise is probably to be a worn launch bearing. If the grasp is slipping (engine revs boost without boost in highway speed) then the grasp itself is the two wiped out or could in simple terms % adjusting. much less many times, yet not surprisingly, the fault could actual be with the launch fork. in case you are able to post with the noise there's no instantaneous could panic, regardless of the undeniable fact that it quite is quite going to could get replaced so start up procuring around for a deal. while it is finished, it is common to renew the great grasp assembly till it quite is needless to say close to sort-new by using fact the areas are particularly much less high priced while in comparison with the labour so which you do not % to pay to change in simple terms the bearing and then later could pay as quickly as extra for the grasp alternative. At 70k miles, your motor vehicle could be on it quite is unique grasp, yet in accordance with previous drivers is additionally on it quite is 2d or perhaps third one. If it quite is on the unique it does not be unusual for the launch bearing to start to fail. quite get the grasp cable (if cable-operated) replaced on the comparable time as after 70k it quite is considered extra useful days and is not often high priced. Many grasp-alternative experts supply unfastened diagnosis and unfastened grasp changes. do not overlook to ask at some Vauxhall dealerships besides as often times they could be aggressive with the quickly-extra healthful chains and could use actual areas. don't be scared to haggle with them to get a extra useful deal although! as long by using fact the grasp works, your MOT tester has no pastime in the assembly and so does not be required to remark on it.
