Use a cheese grater! Put a cardboard between the area and shave it onto the area you want to look worn. It does not work so good on jeans with stretch in them though!

Cute places are the knees of course.....and just below the butt cheek on one side only.

most importantly it depends on HOW destroyed you want them. (TRUST ME ON THIS... I WORK AT HOLLISTER!) start out with a few smaller ones on the mid thigh area... not so much holes as they are just weakened distressed spots. do a medium hole on either knee, your preference.. but keep in mind not too big to start because it will rip larger the more you wear the jeans anyway! you can also do some distressing in the back around the pockets, but not too much again because the jeans will weaken and you dont want a big rip, right?

anyway... there are two different ways to destroy jeans. first there is a pumice stone. this is for less noticeable destruction. very subtle, and depending on how rough the stone, they can seem to take a long time to work. my preference, and what we all use at HCo for our own jeans is razor blades. not the kind you shave with... but like a flat edge one (that you remove from a box cutter for example) and scrape it evenly across the jeans. if you LIKE the white lines in the jeans instead of just a big gaping hole make sure you only scrape horizontally, not up and down. i usually cut one vertical so i can get it started faster.

one last tip: some other people say sandpaper works really well. (i think it would work very similarly to the pumice stone)

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
