I wear BioMedics; Acuvue is clearly more popular.

I've worn contacts since I was in 8th grade so...that means I've worn them for almost 15 years now. The feeling of taking them out and putting them in becomes extremely normal in a short amount of time. Though if you don't like fingers near your eyes, it takes a lot of getting used to.

I shower and swim with mine in all the time, even accidentally opened my eyes underwater while swimming in my pool last summer and experienced no adverse effects. If you get water in them it feels like they dry up a bit; however I would not regularly open my eyes underwater while swimming if not wearing goggles because of the chemicals and contaminants; I make sure to keep my eyes as tightly closed as possible when swimming with no eye protection.

You should be aware, too, that it took me years to be comfortable enough with that. I've worn them long enough now where I know what's wrong with my contacts when something doesn't feel right. I recommend you get very, VERY familiar and comfortable with wearing them first (if you're not already) and what they feel like before you do things while wearing them that your doctor might not approve of.

I use to wear Acuvue as well as other brands and Acuvue lenses are pretty good. Currently I use Acuvue Oasys. Once you get used to putting them in and taking them out it will be a breeze. You can shower and swim with them, but keep in mind that if water gets into your eyes, they may get washed out. I swim with mine all the time and never had that happen, but it is a possibility. Also, do not sleep with them even when they are meant for wearing overnight (such as Focus Night & Day) – I did that and my eye developed allergy to the protein buildup and I got little bumps under the eyelids- very painful when wearing contacts. I’ve been told that in order to completely get rid of the bumps I would need to stop wearing contacts for 6 months. Good luck with your new contacts and take good care of them and your eyes!

I wear acuvue, their good, a general brand-like glasses many to choose from. I have been wearing acuvue off and on for 12 yrs. Putting them in and taking out the first few times feels odd, esp. if you don't like touching your eyes, but once you get past that it's easy. Ony time they bother you is if your eyes are dry etc... you can shower and go to the pool, except you have to be careful in the pool, too much water in your eyes and they can fall out or the chlorine will dry them and your eyes out. They recommend not wearing them in the pool, but if you need to see... you get the idea. Best of luck..

I wear acuvue lens.. I love them. They are so great. they are soft and you cant even feel them. I have worn contacts for about 2 years now. it is really easy to put them in and take them out. You just need to get used to doing it and then it will become something that you do automatically. I wear my contacts everywhere, also in the shower. I have slept with them too..!! I wouldnt advise you to do that though. It may go behind your eyes and it may create eye infections and other complications..
I know you will love them!! Go get them asap!!

I wear 1 day acuvue. They are very good because they dont dry out and you can't feel them at all. I have been wearing them for about a year. I used to not be able to wear contacts, because I couldn't stand anything near my eyes because they are very sensitive. I can shower with them, but you never swim with them, well if you are planning to go underwater that is.

Acuvue hydraclear are great. You never even notice them and you can shower and go swimming with them but you might wanna take them out to swim if you can in case it falls out.

I'm on a competitive swim team, so I have Daily contacts. You replace them daily, so that bacteria in the pool water doesn't get into your eyes, because according to my optometrist, the bacteria can get under the contacts and eat away your iris in less than 24 hours. This is why, if you want to swim in your contacts, it's best to get a daily brand. I use Daily Focus; it's a little more expensive than other longer lasting brands, but it helps a lot since I swim everyday. You can shower in your contacts too, as long as you don't get shampoo or soap in them-- I never have but it can't be or feel good. It's also not a big deal taking them in or out-- just make sure you spread your eyelids far enough apart when putting contacts in; it just takes a bit of practice. I have found contacts to be a lot better than glasses, but that's my opinion. You can ask your optometrist for about a weeks worth of sample contacts, and see for yourself!

O2optics is what I use. I love them I have worn them for 3 years. I can't even feel them anymore, but they felt odd at first. Kind of cold. I do shower and go in the pool with them, but I have disposable ones. If you have only one pair, I don't recomend it because you will never find it if you lose it.
