I'm 5"9 and i wear a size 4. I don't starve myself therefore I'm not anorexic. I eat healty and i exercise..for me it's all about having a happy and healthy life style. A positive self image is essential for healthy living. Because of my size I have a difficult time finding clothes... before all i ever saw was size 8 and up. Now there's a new trand size 0 and size 00.The women who wear these sizes look entirely too thin. Quite frankly, they look ill. They lack the natural curves that makes a women's body so beautiful.

Well, I am 29 yrs old and I wear a 0, I only weigh 98lbs and I am 5'4". Yes, I am skinny, but I do however have curves and I look healthy. I eat healthy, and I also exercise. Some people, like myself, can eat anything and everything they want and not gain an ounce. A person's metabolism determines weight gain.

It depends on the person and their build. If someone is extremely small framed, doesn't have a lot of muscle mass and high metabolism, then they may be as small as a size 0 or even 00.

I know personally even at 5ft2, I'd need to be 90lb-100lb to be a size 00/0, which would not be healthy for me. But some people claim to be size 0 and still not underweight, so no-one can really fault them for that.

The reason size 0 looks ill is when women starve themselves to be thin. They lose their boobs, their hip bones stick out and they look emaciated. But when someone is very naturally petite, they are just a scaled down version of any other size. It's their bones which are smaller, it's not necessarily that they have too little body fat. And it's the proportions not the measurements that dictate whether someone is curvy or not.

Even though a size 0 is a 31 inch bust, if the person is a 28C then they still obviously have boobs. And if the waist is 23 inches and the hips are 33 inches, then they obviously still have a figure. But like I said, this is only the case if someone is naturally very small framed and has a healthy amount of body fat, not someone who starved themselves and struggled to maintain such a small size.

HTH : )

I don't think size 0 and 00 is promoting an unhealthy body image, because I'm pretty sure there are girls out there who don't "starve" themselves and wear a size 0 and naturally. Just as there are girls who wear a size 0 and aren't even skinny, just short with a small body frame. Sometimes, it's not always about weight but how your body is portioned. Now, diet advertisements and some actual models on a runway may promote an unhealthy body image, but that's the media promoting that. Not the size 0 and 00 itself. But, by the way, if you're 5'9'' and a size 4 you are gorgeous!

Hello to you. Okay, It is not unhealthy to offer such a size. I am very petite and athletic. I am 5'1, 98 pounds, 13% body fat, eat healty and work out 5 days a week. I still have curves and still have a booty, but I am a very small frame. Half the time I end up shopping in the kids section do to lack of 0's and 00's. Did I mention I am 28? Yeah, so when I need clothes for my day job (corporate america- computer programmer-not fun ha) But anyway, when I shop for clothing to dress up to work it is hard to do so in the kids section. I think women need to be less focused on Size and Weight and go for Health. I eat a healthy balanced diet, I exercise and feel fantastic. I try to tell my friends that they need not fad diet or be obsessed with getting into certain sizes or to a certain weight. Over all health, lean tone muscle and Yes, CURVES. But we shouldn't ban a Size 0 or 00, because trust me, there are healthy curvy girls out there who have small frames and actually wear that size.....not starve to get into them. :)

I read in a magazine the other day that clothing designers and stores and changing sizes so that bigger ppl will fit into a smaller number. they say marilyn monroe was a size 14, but that a size 14 back then would be equal to what we label as a size 8 now. so basically its all to helop women feel better that theyre fitting in a smaller number. which forces skinny girls like me into a 0 (used to get into a 2 at the gap but im swimmiig in them nowadays, but i digress). i must agree with the other ppl here that u cant assume that every skinny person is ill, or making themselves thin, myself included. i do agree that curves are beautiful, and wish i had more but iguess we just have to be happy with ourselves.

Alot of women do make themselves size 0 and 00, but alot of women are naturally skinny so no, I don't think it's completely promoting an unhealthy image. My sister is the same way. She's super skinny, but eats like a horse.

I think that they are promoting a bad image saying you have to be this small! I am a proud size 22 and look great. I just saw in Cosmo where they are thinking about adding negative sizes. There is no need to be that small! you are unhealthy if you are! You are right they do look very anorexic! women out there please don't be afraid to eat something! Nowadays it is normal to be a little big. Better to be bigger and curvy than way too thin and bony.

the only people that i have seen in a size 0 are people that I know are on drugs, so in my oppinion yes it is promoting an unhelathy image. just as men with big muscles look sick to me. Women or men that are to skinny look sick. And I weighed 93 lbs most of my life, and yes I was sickly looking and tried to gain weight.

I agree, and as the mother of a beautiful teenager, I try not to let her catch me monitoring her increasingly birdlike appetite. I worry, but you have to be real careful, eating disorders are not funny.
