i just started a new job at a traffic data company and i have this counting device that i have to load the data on a program into my laptop computer and email the data into work. so my question is this i cant get the program to detect the counting device so i can load the info it has a 9pin input and ive tried using a 9pin to a 15pin and a 9pin to a usb and non work can anyone help?

I suggest you look up the manufacturer of the drive on google, or if you have a manual for it it probably has a phone number for customer support. They would be the best to help you. Other wise you can try opening my computer, control panel, and select search for new hardware after the device is plugged in. it may find the device, but you will probably have to find a driver for it then.

try assigning an "IRQ" for that certain device so the computer will recognize it
