Bath time can be pretty exciting for a little baby. First make sure he's only throwing up from excitement and not from some other digestive problem. It's pretty common for babies with full tummies to spit up during bath time.

I would try to do it before a feeding, but not when he is crying. I wouldn't wake up a sleeping baby, either. Try to find his awake time, and aim near the end of it, then bathe him and feed him so that he will fall asleep clean and comfy with a full tummy.

I don't think bathing would be a cause of projectile vomiting. In fact an intestinal obstruction is sometimes to blame for projectile vomiting in newborns so you might want to have him checked out. We always bathed our baby at bed-time, it's soothing and she got to go to bed all fresh and clean.

Let his food settle before bathing him. You wouldn't go for a swim right after you had a big meal would you? You would probably spew up too!

Keep bathing to nighttime, perhaps after you have had your tea and are retiring for the night. That way you are starting to set a routine of tea, bath and bed, even though your little one is still probably feeding during the night. Routine is everything with kids.

In general, it's better to bathe your newborn before mealtime, if she or he is not too hungry. Too soon after eating and she may spit up. For older babies, a bath before bedtime works best, since it cleans them up for the night and helps soothe them. You might want to develop this evening routine: a bath, reading a story, then bedtime. But use your best judgment and give your baby a bath anytime she needs one.

Give him a hour to digest and then give him a bath...generally the last feeding before "bed time" is a good time. Baths are relaxing.

sometimes they vomit cause its jus gas or they havent digested. I have always bathed my son at night before a feeding. I feel like he sleeps better at night afterward. then i feed him and burp him and put him to bed. wait til hes wide awake to bath him. and then give him the milk. that might work.

I have always bathed my daughter before her last bottle of the night. She eats her last bottle at 8 pm, so I bath her at 7:30, read her a book (even though she is only 4 months now) and she's ready for her bottle.

Bath before you feed him. Mention the vomitting to your paediatrician if you haven't already. Probably just a bit of infant reflux which is quite common.

I used to bathe mine before I fed them. The bath relaxed them and they were able to enjoy their feeding and slept well, afterwards.
