We took my friend to a stripclub for his bachelor party and we all noticed that the girls wore something on their nipples. It was almost like it was clear tape or something. Any idea what it is? Why do they wear it?

In some places full nudity is not allowed, hence the invention of the pasties. For some unknown reason puritans think that the nipple is the "worst" or "offensive" part of the breast and bearing the nipple is partial nudity. It is unfortunate that pasties were even invented, because it all comes from a puritanistic society which is afraid of nudity and their own sexuality.
In some states where the puritans made the laws, it is illegal to serve alcohol where there is nudity, hence the pasties make it partial nudity.

Some states have a law forbidding complete nudity where liquor is served, to get around that the girls wear pasties on the nipples

some places can't have nipple. i assume no bottomless either or else it'd be silly to cover a nipple and wave her couch in your face. Non strip club wet t-shirt where the shirts often wind up meaningless by the end of the night use a purple wax or rubber stuff to cover the nipples. it's for legal reasons, or some may think it's sexy.

Nipple pasties. In some strip club it is illegal to show nipple so they have to cover them up.
