If you are asking about the advantage of a laptop over a desktop PC. The main advantage is mobility. Next the components are better built because it must withstand all types of movement. For example, the drives. You will have errors in your PC drives once you start moving it while writing, but not on the laptop. Because of the miniaturization of components inside the portable it is much more expensive and much durable. Then for the monitor, usually PC's have CRT (Cathode-Ray-Tube) monitors which emits harmful x-ray but all portables have TFT (Thin-Film-Transistor) or LCD (Liquid-Crystal-Display) monitor which emits 0% harmful rays and good for prolonged us. These are some of the advantage I can see. Hope I helped a little. Good luck!

I have found a few with mine:

I can move around the house and still have internet access.

In the summer I can sit out in the back garden, chat on MSN and listen to music, instead of staying in the house.

When I go to people's houses who have a crap computer I can take my laptop and show off.

When I go on holiday I can lock the laptop out of sight, the PC I can't

I can still use the computer even when there's a powercut, but I had to use the USB modem, which meant I was wired, and I had to call in at the gran's house to charge the laptop. lol.

also, people say PC's are faster than laptops, even if they have same spec. I find this total bull, as my laptop is a bit lower spec than my PC, but it's still faster.

also, laptops look much neater than a PC and take up much less space. No messy wires all over the place. No need for a big bulky desk taking up half the corner and you can even check email when sitting on the toilet, or when you're ill and can't get out of bed.

To sit in comfort compared to sat on a dodgy chair getting a crink in your neck. To have the tv on while being on the laptop. To sit in the lounge with the wife and be online at the same time. Hmm, maybe thats not so good lol. They keep your legs warm in winter. It doesn't make you itch like the cat does, or have claws. You can give it to the kids in their bedrooms. But the best thing must be you have some extra room for a big tv by getting rid of the workstation. Will never have a base unit again.

Portability is the only advantage, really. Compare a laptop and a a desktop of the same price and the desktop will always be a better performer. That said, for many people, portability is a necessity, so, you pay for it.

lots easier to steal...

zero upgrade options

screens break as soon as you look at them

considering they are usually dead slow, they cost a fortune...

one doesnt need a slaptop, all one really needs is an internet connection or a pen drive, or a usb hard drive, or a 4gig memory card and reader... i just got a 4 gig toshiba CF card for 23 quid... fits in my pocket and no one is going to nick it...
