I have a sliding shower door that already has a clear silicone on the exterior of the track. I found some almond colored GE silicone sealant and want top apply this over the top of the clear. It would take a long time to remove the other silicone and then apply this one.

I am just basically using the almond color one for color..the shower is not leaking with the clear I have on it.

Removing the old silicone is very easy just pull it off.
Silicone is very messy when you apply it... you should do it in one shot because when you try to correct a part you didn´t like, the silicone gets unfriendly.
So if you try to put silicone on top of silicone, it will be difficult and anyway, it will not bond right.

Buy Silicone II, it is better preventing mold. Or you could try to get some kind of paint and just put some color in the clear silicone you already have.

Good luck

Should work just fine. I found that it is easier to apply sealant by pushing the tube forward, smoothing the sealant at the same time, rather than pulling the sealant out behind the nozzle.

no you should never place a nother sealant over a nother one. it will not proporly bond and will eventully leek. better to take the time and do it right..

it is best for you to get someone that knows what to do to repair that job for you and if you wasn't so lazy you could do the job yourself.
