Most any wireless is rated at about 100ft....

HOWEVER, that is in an OPEN SPACE, meaning no walls, furniture, trees etc....

You can help get the best range by placing your Wireless Router as HIGH and as far Away from walls, etc as possible

On SOME Models of Router you can buy a "gain" antenna or you can also buy a Wireless "Extender\Amplifier"

Under ideal conditions, the standard wireless range is around 300 ft. in an open space, anything that is in between the access point and the computer will degrade the signal. For maximum speed (54Mb/s) you need to be within 100 ft, as you go further from the access point you lose speed. In a typical home situation, the wireless range is from 150 to 200 ft. To test the range of your wireless network you could use NetStumbler which is also good to check for competing wireless networks in you area that could cause interference.

There are methods to extend the range with better antennas (both omni- and uni- directional), higher end access points and repeaters. Router placement also affects range, if the access point is near electronics (TV's, halogen bulbs, microwaves, cordless phones, etc.). The wireless signal from a omnidirectional antenna is in the shape of a squished ball and flows perpendicular to the antenna. To make the range further horizontally, the antenna must be oriented vertically and preferably 4 to 6 feet off the ground.

About 300 feet if not going through any objects and standard antennas. You can increase this by obtaining a stronger antenna (7dbi or more) for the access point and/or getting a directional antenna for the computer.

Each wall will decrease the distance. Also note that walls/floors at an anlge will decrease it more than at a 90 degree angle to the antenna.

It all depends on how many walls it has to go threw and how far you are trying to travel with it. You can get a range booster for it that will bring your single up farther. You find your limit around 300 feet most likely, if you are able to move your router to a window, it is possible you could get a better signal.

you could setup instantaneous community putting on a wep key and a community call to guard your utilization so your neighbours should not be waiting to faucet into your utilization, relies upon on what isp you utilize...to get a sturdy sign i might say 25 metres on the main...do no longer ignore concrete partitions, cordless telephones, great swimming pools of water can intervene with the sign so which you may want to be careful the place you place the router on your place

some goes 30 feet, but its weak when its farther away from the router. others go 100 feet, but those cost alot of money and gets weaker the farther you go
