I am a Kennedy assassination scholar and there is a lot of debate on this point. There is not an accepted answer that all agree with--therefore I have to say, "We don't know."

1. Kennedy had undoubtedly been talking as the limousine came down main street and he may have spoken something to the occupants of the vehicle along Houston Street as the car approached the Texas School Book Depository, but no one has in the car has ever officially said what his last words were.

2. Nellie Connally, the wife of Texas Governor John Connally (who was also struck with one of Oswald's bullets) stated that she said to the President moments before he was shot, "Well you can't say that Dallas doesn't love you today." After which SHE claimed he responded with "No you certainly can't." However no one else in the vehicle coroborates that claim. Everyone in the vehicle (her husband, Jackie, Secret Services Agenst Kellerman and Greer) all heard Nellie's comment, but NONE of them heard Kennedy's response.

3. It was also claimed that Kennedy spoke after he was shot in the upper back, supposedly saying, "My God, I'm hit." However, not everyone in the vehicle heard him say that and it is medically unlikely that he said anything since his trachea had been severed by the first shot.

4. There, WHATEVER Kennedy last said, it was spoken well before Oswald began shooting. William Manchester and Jim Bishop both wrote books dealing with the minute by minute narration of the events of that fateful day in Dallas, however both books are riddled with inaccuracies and are full of holes (sorry.)

And there you have it.

"Jackie - I have a bit of a headache."

Would he have had any last words if he was shot through the head ? Don't think so !

and looking at the Zapruder film, Jackie sure wasn't hanging round to listen to them either.
