EVERYONE on the planet is like you...everyone feels anxious about meeting new people...it is part of being human. Some people don't APPEAR to be anxious only because they have learned how to not take their feelings (anxiety) too seriously.

Your feelings (anxiety) are just feelings. Emotions are just energy moving through your body. It is not real and cannot hurt you. It's only when you try to not feel it or deny what you feel that it bothers you. Next time you feel anxiety, just tell yourself it's just energy in motion in my body and doesn't mean anything and you will see how quickly that anxiety passes away.

Why should you feel anxious about meeting new people? Do these people hold your life in their hands? Would your world stop spinning and the sun stop rising, if they disapproved of you? Most women want someone that is comfortable in their own skin and not trying to put on an act to impress them. If you are not confident in yourself, then how can they feel confident about you. Just be yourself, or find something that is unique about you and build on that. Nobody knows what attracts one person to another. If they don't clothe and feed you or sleep in your bed, don't worry.

I feel a lot of anxiety too. For me, imagining people without clothes seems to take some off its edge or if I encounter someone very condescending then I imagine them comitting a social blunder.

I am, but only when those girls are older yet still close to my age.

It confuses me, because I can remain calm when having to work, or even occasionally carry on a conversation with someone younger or of relatively close age to me.
