I have heard a few different definitions. Is a tranny a transexual or transvestite? Is tranny a slang term?

tranny is a slang term for any trans-related

transvestites enjoy crossdressing for fun but have no intention of having a sex change. this is just a hobby they enjoy that makes
them sexually excited..

transgenderist is someone who does not agree with the gender role society has chosen for them (ie society things boys should be masculine and girls should be feminine) many transgenderists will take hormones and have body modifications so they can live their lives as the opposite sex, yet keep their genitals the same.

transsexuals literally want to have a sex change.. and can't be happy or comfortable unless they go all the way.

Tranny is a slang term that can refer to any of the possible categories that fall under transgender. It is usually considered to be offensive, although some trangendered people use the word in order to try nullifying it's negative aspects.

Tranny is a slang term at best, an offensive term, IMO.

Tranny usually refers to transsexuals, not transvestites.
